The 4th Annual Meeting of the ID4Africa Movement, was hosted by the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) and held at the Abuja International Conference Center (AICC), in Abuja, Nigeria, from 24-26 April 2018. The conference brought together the world’s leading solution providers under one roof. It is the largest such gathering in Africa and it gave the attendees the opportunity to see and experience first-hand the wide range of innovations related to identification technologies, biometrics, mobile solutions, smart cards, system integration, Identity-related information systems, authentication and general identification systems.

The theme of this year's meeting was 'Harmonization of Identity Schemes' and discussions centred on data as a driver of change in identity systems in Africa. This year's symposium also featured two new additions to the programme: DigiHealth and IDSec. DigiHealth was a full day symposium on the role of digital identity in eHealth while IDSec focused on the relationship between identity and security including document security, law enforcement, and secure eID platforms.
